The EPCSOA Political Action Committee was created out of the necessity in selecting candidates who best serve the Law Enforcement Community. The P.A.C. Committee is comprised of Association board members who have both the interest and experience understanding the political arena. One of the most important endorsements in El Paso, as well as other communities, is the Law Enforcement endorsement. It sends a strong message to the community that the candidate is supportive of strong crime legislation.
The P.A.C. Committee meets with potential candidates on a monthly basis to discuss their merits and platforms. They will than meet with the board and make a recommendation on whether support and money should be given to the candidate in order to assist them in their campaign. The P.A.C. fund is probably the most singularly important tool in our arsenal. Candidates realize that besides our endorsement, they can also count on support through volunteers and money to help in their campaign.
We have become very strong within the political circles, and we will continue to become even stronger. The P.A.C. Committee is prepared to fight any attempts to take away our collective bargaining rights and the message is clear to the candidates that we will always support those who support collective bargaining rights and law enforcement issues.
