Last night was our monthly membership meeting at Jackie's Mexican Restaurant with special guests Commissioner Carlos Leon, El Paso County Sheriff Richard Wiles, & Assistant Chief Tom Whitten.

We feel it is important that the members see this video. In our opinion, this video should have been brought to your attention long ago. While we were busy fighting our boss, he was fighting to keep our jobs. For years now we have been fighting the battle over the Downtown Jail with Commissioner Vince Perez who has consistently tried to close the jail and put 280 members out of work. Another jail study is going on right now, wasting tax payer money because all of the others did not produce the results that Commissioner Perez wanted to hear. Its time for this membership to start getting involved with Iliana Holguin's campaign to replace Commissioner Perez, and also time to recognize that contrary to what we've been led to believe, Sheriff Wiles has advocated for us.
