We would also like to thank Commissioner Leon for preparing it and Sheriff Wiles for speaking on it. A big thank you to all the members working behind the walls day in and day out. Today marks a year since our brother Deputy Peter Herrera was tragically taken from us. A hero remembered never dies. We will never forget you Pete! The EPCSOA, Sheriff Wiles, and Make-A-Wish teamed up to attend 11 year old Isaac’s Birthday Party. Isaac’s dream is to become a Deputy Sheriff and today Sheriff Wiles made him an Honorary Deputy Sheriff. Congratulations Isaac and Happy Birthday, thanks for having us at your party! Special thank you to Commissioners Leon and Robinson for your support with this! ![]() When two members of the El Paso County Sheriff’s Officers’ Association were facing financial hardship due to catastrophic illness, they turned to the county sick leave pool for help. Even though the pool had over 60,000 hours available, the employees could not get help because the County of El Paso said they did not qualify. That’s when EPCSOA President Pete Faraone stepped in. It truly has been a great year!! Special thanks to We B Fore, our live entertainment, and to the Pebble Hills High School Culinary program for the outstanding catering. Also, thanks to our special guests Sheriff Richard Wiles, Commissioners Carlos Leon and David Stout, and Iliana Holguin, our candidate for County Commissioner. Last night was our monthly membership meeting at Jackie's Mexican Restaurant with special guests Commissioner Carlos Leon, El Paso County Sheriff Richard Wiles, & Assistant Chief Tom Whitten. We feel it is important that the members see this video. In our opinion, this video should have been brought to your attention long ago. While we were busy fighting our boss, he was fighting to keep our jobs. For years now we have been fighting the battle over the Downtown Jail with Commissioner Vince Perez who has consistently tried to close the jail and put 280 members out of work. Another jail study is going on right now, wasting tax payer money because all of the others did not produce the results that Commissioner Perez wanted to hear. Its time for this membership to start getting involved with Iliana Holguin's campaign to replace Commissioner Perez, and also time to recognize that contrary to what we've been led to believe, Sheriff Wiles has advocated for us. Watch to see what you were never told. |
